New gear

As far as I can remember I’ve been risk adverse, not chicken just prone predictable outcomes.  This has led to staying in broken relationships, staying in a job too long and worn out shoes.

Since level 10, I’ve been cradling the M60 and now have the LVOA from D1 as my weapons, not because they are particularly good but because I know how they feel, reload and kill.  My limited game-play nowadays doesn’t give much time to experimentation and many of my sessions are simple farming and grouping up to help others.

I need new gear…. namely vanity items.  Add 3 business suits to the list at 1200 GBP.

Creative Destruction

Building up a new set of characters on D2 will be an adventure and require lots of experimentation, hours and talent to build towards your playstyle and team.

Most importantly, for experienced Divison gamers, it’s the need to ditch many old ideas and strategies from the original and re-invent yourself.

This morning I woke up in a “safe” zone.

The Beta business

Game testing is worked smartly into the sales cycle for many game tiles especially highly anticipated ones.  The layer of so-called “private Beta” is now very available to pre-order customers but where is the actual Beta testing completed?

Tom Clancy’s The Division® 2 Beta is live and I’ll be grinding this weekend and documenting the new user interface, skills and gear.

Tom Clancy’s The Division® 2 Beta – Finally arrived

Happy Pre-Load Day

February has kicked off with a vibrant set of titles.  First up is Apex: Legends, a brilliant Battle Royale title in direct competition with Fortnite and its millions+ player base.  At the same time HitMan (2016) The entire 1st season is up for free for PS Plus subscribers and I just received my key for the Division 2 Private Beta.

I quickly retired from Apex: Legends after 5 hours gameplay with friends, great game but Battle Royale is still not my thing. I last played HitMan a year ago so it was refreshing to re-start my training and experimentation.

Naturally, it’s just something to keep me busy while I’m in the Division 2 waiting room.

End of an era

Heading back to DC

March 15, 2016 – Ubisoft announced ongoing record sell- through sales for Tom Clancy’s The Division, which has grossed more than $330 million worldwide in its first five days.

March 15, 2019 – The company releases The Division 2 no doubt aiming to smash that disgusting sales figure.

So how do a company go about maintaining that track record and move millions of gamers to a new platform whilst attracting the new one?

Since the first Beta, I was hooked but rapidly cooled off after constantly getting melted in the DarkZone or just not finding a stable squad to run with.  I noted that they have changed some key features that killed my interest in the title.

DLCs are free for Year 1 – no more issues with not having the right environment. This is an honest move as it created a massive difference between gamers who played occasionally and the elites.

8-player Raids were added as the ultimate end-game, clearly a move from the Destiny Universe.

And the ultimate killer move, reward gamers who continue to play The Division 1 with stuff in Division 2.  This move alone pulls me back to NY to scrap around for rewards.

Heading back to DC

I’m not a Twitch subscriber but at this stage, I’m very tempted to start subbing one of my favourite Division streamers. Just hope I can still afford my child support.
