Stop Look Listen (To Your Heart)

One of the things that make BioShock such a great title is the sound design.

As you wonder through the first level you can hear Fitzgerald’s God Bless the Child in the background and can easily eavesdrop on the conversations of your enemies around every corner.

Destination this summer – Daytona Beach

Pretty early on, you are faced with critical moral decisions – rescue or kill.

It’s at this point you really have to get your head straight.

Got a bit stressed out last night. Back to usual dosage 60mg today.

Diana and Marvin sang it well in 1971

You’re alone all the time
Does it ever puzzle you, have you asked why
You seem to fall in Love and out again
Do you ever really Love or just Pretend
Why fool yourself

Don’t be afraid to help yourself
It’s never too late, too late to

Stop, Look
Listen to your heart, hear what it’s saying

Who’s your Daddy?

The Big Daddy Character – The ultimate protector in BioShock

Good game design goes beyond the platform (PC or Console) and like a great book, it can be absorbed decades later.

I first played BioShock almost 10 years ago and now that it’s on PS4 I’ve started the story again. I never finished the series so this is a real treat.

The Big Daddy character AKA Mr Bubbles are the ultimate protectors throughout the game and the writers did a brilliant job of creating a submerged world that is full of pure escapism.

It’s easy for relationships to fade out and disintegrate into nothingness but from time to time you find something that is truly magically.

Dionne Warwick sang it well in 1983….. So Amazing.

Love has truly been good to me
Not even one sad day
Or minute I had since you come my way
I hope you know I gladly go
Anywhere you take me

It’s so amazing to be loved
I’ll follow you to the moon in the sky above

I can see clearly now the rain has gone

It’s easy to think you are actually making progress when you are sooooooo busy.

Most time management systems will tell you to focus on the stuff that is “Not Urgent” but Really Important.  Things like Birthday celebrations or my PS4 hardware replacement need to be high on my agenda.

First Blood: Had an excellent gym session last night so my mind is very alert with only a slight twinge behind my right eye.

I’ve decided to lower my dosage of  MESTINON® (pyridostigmine bromide) for a few weeks till I get to go home again.

London is my therapy and sanctuary.

Don’t let it go to your Head

Easy to get blind-sided

As a veteran Gamer it’s really easy to get complacent and blind-sided. Levelling up and destroying opponents then out of nowhere someone headshots you or you run into a jump scare.

WTF….

Percy Sledge said it best in 1966

“When a man loves a woman
Can’t keep his mind on nothin’ else
He’d trade the world
For a good thing he’s found
If she is bad, he can’t see it
She can do no wrong
Turn his back on his best friend
If he puts her down

When a man loves a woman
Spend his very last dime
Trying to hold on to what he needs
He’d give up all his comforts
And sleep out in the rain
If she said that’s the way
It ought to be”

So let me enjoy the moment and stay measured.

Stick by me and I’ll Stick by you

Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner

The 4-player Co-op mode is now a stable and popular gameplay mode. Many games offer this option to enrich the experience.

Helldivers™ and the upcoming Ghost Recon are great titles for co-op.

When you attack in full force with real-time audio it’s like you’re in the same room, and if things are right you are neurologically connected.

I’m struggling to get this blend in “Real” life as I trip through a Cashless, Contactless, Wireless, Faceless, Cloud-enabled existence searching for the Human factor.

But over the past few days, I broke the cycle.

That repetitive, predictable, soulless drudge that was crippling my limbic system evaporated and revealed a new connection. The very thing I was searching for was found in London’s Savoy.

…my Prospective

Endlessly

“Flower” A Rare treat on PS4

I was 13 years old when Randy Crawford dropped the track “Endlessly”, I had enough pocket money to buy the Album 3 year later. To this very day, the lyrics echo the perfect Love song from a woman to a man.

What is “Rare Grove” today?

Chances are you can find it on all the popular streaming services, there is not even the need to own it anymore.

I still have a load of sealed Vinyl records in my garage but keep my 80’s Typewriter close to my gadgets.

In this cashless, always connected world keeping our “Rare” stuff offline and unavailability to SmartPhones is an admirable goal.

See me after Class for some authentic Rare Groove experiences.
