Security as an option

Outside the gaming industry news of compromised gaming accounts will appear as pretty trivial in the scope of things.  160k worldwide accounts is relatively small but what if your data was involved?

Typically, your account could be used for money laundering activities leading the law directly to your doorstep.  Anyhow, I will not be losing any sleep over this and why is 2-factor authentication still an option and not mandatory…when will they learn?

Meanwhile, hours after the news thousands of players are force kicked from all Division 2 Servers without reason. Maybe, just a sanity check from the providers.

Weeks turns in months…Finding my Purpose (notes and ramblings)

Today, I finally came out of my mental hibernation with slight flurries of getting back to my old self.  Life will never be same again but I’ve re-started documenting my cognitive Post Pandemic journey. A regular online meeting helped to boast my purpose. Preparation was key.

  • Far beyond just checking email
    1. Checking the calendar
    2. Preparing for the online meeting
    3. Critical Technical check – video, audio, network and VPN connectivity
    4. Actually, have a shower
    5. Actually, have breakfast
    6. Put on a shirt even though you are in shorts and flip flops
    7. Warm up the meeting with personal greetings and water cooler chit chat

Post meeting [Must do items] – take a break and then follow up with action points and timelines

  • Conclude activity and re-hash the process
  • Check and populate your calendar with more daily stuff and purpose.

Unbanned: chronicles of the re-grind

Returning to Division 2 after the blanket ban is annoying but at least I had some fundamental loot to recreate a rifle and healer build.  An empty friends list and cautious game-play…just re-organizing, optimizing and deleting gear took 2 hours. Anyhow, no looking back now as mistakes were clearly made.

What’s the first thing you do when you leave jail?

I like my games Real but daaaaaaaaam

Every active Division agent must be thinking “oh s**t, they went and done it in the real world.” So, the collapse of societies is upon us.  Things that mattered 30 days ago are trivial today.

  • Hospitals and medical services unable to cope with demand.
  • Groceries and common supplies become limited – shelves are empty
  • Major cities on lock-down
  • Quarantine mandated
  • Martial Law in effect
  • Airline ground flights for the foreseeable future…..but
When’s the next train? Tom Clancy’s The Division
  • Water taps are running
  • Electricity is still here
  • Banks are still open
  • …And WhatsApp still works
