What da bleep, bleep…

It used to be pretty easy to manage your Apps from iTunes but now the giant vendor has stealthily taken that option away, which sucks for iPhone 4 or multiple device users.  Now you are forced to manage all Apps from the device itself.

Having to re-think mobile device management…Again.

The new App store looks and feels fantastic but it’s just a cold reminder that end users control nothing.

At any point, your daily habits and behaviour can be manipulated with an Operating system update forcing you to act in a “crafted” way.  In the meantime, your walking, talking, driving, sleeping habit data is carefully harvested by your mobile device for later use.

How do you like dem Apples?

Coming out of retirement

I put down Star Wars Battlefront after 129 hours, 25 minutes and 53 seconds of game time, ending with 5,321 kills and 7,505 deaths.

Now, after over a year of retirement, I’m coming back for Part 2.

I was kinda fooling myself into thinking I could just be satisfied with watching from the sidelines, clearly, the Dark Side is too strong to resist.  I’m be joining the Public Beta on 6-9 October and no doubt there will be over 5 million players doing the same thing.

EA Public Beta is a bit of a nonsense as the company probably has an army of professional gamers, developers and streamers willing to test at any time.  I guess the argument is to load testing the server network but I suspect the real motivation is to hook players into buying the game, pure “try before you buy” marketing.

EA Earning results

EA Digital net sales of $3.034 billion for fiscal 2017; this represents 61% of total net sales, up 20 % year over year.

Something to talk about

In the absence of hard core facts, gossip festers like an untreated wound.  Add the emotion layer of relatives and family gossip has got to be one of hardest things to avoid.  Sometimes it’s just merely annoying but often deeply hurtful.

Like polymorphic malware, it changes itself constantly to the environment so that upon detonation it causes the most damage.

How to take advantage of HearSay…post-Fake News about yourself.

Tactically, I’m always undecided as to either feed the gossip with facts to shut it up or just ignore it and let it grow and die organically.

Alternatively, it’s fun to poison the stream with fake news and monitor the reactions.

People always want it to be juicy so it seems just a good move to make things uninteresting.  In my experience, the real facts of life are not what people really want to hear.

Move along nothing to see here

Wondering out of Lazy Obliviousness

Personal Paradox: Trying to rid myself of nearly 5 years of oblivious hostile dependency but more importantly bringing them to a place of self-reliance.

The subject hates the fact that I help them repeatedly yet does nothing to put themselves in a better financial position.  A cycle that will never end.

So I simply left the arena and watched.  GAME OVER.

Yeah but, No but, Yeah but, No but

I find it really difficult to deal with people who ask for my professional advice and then turn around and argue with me or blatantly reject my guidance every time.

Week, months and sometimes years later, I’m proved right.

Banks are now targeting small business with Cyber Crime insurance….really. How the hell are you gonna prove you have been breached as opposed to poor digital hygiene.   Leaving a weak password on your office Network is asking for trouble and near on negligent.

I doubt whether an insurance policy will cover you if you fail to patch your systems or set-up 2-factor for yourself and your users.

This is money for old rope and a potential cash cow for insurers to Win while your lose.

I’ve got no time for this….me out.
