Broken impact

Time to prepare for the Dark Winter. Right now, I seem to break easily well actually my right knee is the weak point. According to Ai, it’s likely that I’ve caused a Meniscus Tear: The meniscus is a piece of cartilage that provides a cushion between your femur (thighbone) and tibia (shinbone). Hurts like a son of a bitch and I’m limping everywhere. It could also be a common grade 1 sprain of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) one of the four major ligaments in the knee that connects the femur (thighbone) to the tibia (shinbone). *Ai certainly makes one sound like an expert in anything.

Past few days I’ve been applying Conservative Treatment: This is usually the first line of treatment for meniscus tears and includes rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE) to reduce pain and swelling. Physical therapy can also help strengthen the surrounding muscles and improve the range of motion.

I should be up and running in a few days hopefully as I have my first trip to Edinburgh next week.

STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ Still Your Father

Been a Long time….

It’s been seven months since my previous post, and life has maintained a relatively steady course. When I say “relatively,” I mean that I haven’t had to grapple with any exceedingly dramatic life challenges. Stability often equates to monotony, but at the same time, monotony offers a sense of security.

The previously guarded AI secret weapon has now been released for public use without any cost, causing the world to react strongly as it attempts to comprehend the transformed landscape of threats. The year 2022 introduced the era of Crypto, 2023 brought the prominence of AI, and one can only speculate about what 2024 holds in store.

Perhaps I’ll employ AI to reword my future posts.

More than five years have elapsed since I last engaged in Star Wars Battlefront (2015). Recently, I ventured into a multiplayer match and found myself vanishing within moments of starting. Astonishingly, there are still individuals frequenting these antiquated servers, although waiting for a grand 40-player showdown requires significant patience.

Several single-player missions remain incomplete, and now I appear entirely inexperienced at Rank 51 (formerly the highest level attainable). Players at Rank 100 obliterate me without a trace, leaving me clueless about my assailant’s identity. Nonetheless, it’s all in good spirits and provides an enjoyable experience.

(This post was rewritten by Ai and reads so much better than my original draft)

STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ was groundbreaking in 2015 and is still good today.

Being risk-averse doesn’t shield you from life flipping into an absolute nightmare in hours. Yes, it reduces the attack surface and allows you to create a little safety bubble but how safe is it really?

It is not publicly acceptable to “go dark” because tough to digitally trace. It also isolates your actual close friends and family as they rely on core apps like WhatsApp.

Digital minimalism is my goal but what is the path?

Gaming Buffet set to damage lobbies

The “Have as much as you like” model has never been friendly to me. In the US, restaurants caused a permanent surge in obesity, offering a massive fixed price menu and the new PlayStation Plus subscription model would cause the gaming equivalent.

Everything is good in moderation, but self-control will be tested. Still, aside from that, it will hurt multiple player group lobbies, with newbies jumping in and out of titles to try it and rage quitting as things get more challenging.

I remember struggling to play with a consistent group in the 2021 title Alien FireTeam and, despite being a true Aliens fan, it was no fun playing with randoms and no comms every time.

Took 8 hours a week to level up my Ronin in Ghost of Tsushima Legends

Warning!!! Shop, Stream and Send levels exceeded.

What was once an uncertain landscape is now as predictable as Perma Death mod.

Accepting this will lead to a better path of contentment. Like many, I sat at home streaming, sending and shopping from our favourite forest. 2022 will need to be different because I don’t have any more space in the house but mainly because material things don’t generate a decent level of dopamine.

Path of the Nomad tactics are needed to regenerate my health and well-being over time, but seriously I’m now on the hunt for a new Path. In the meantime, I’ve attracted a gradual load of low-level pesky bot attacks but not too interesting to talk about here.

Maybe a spending cap is needed for 2020 toooooo
