Dear Mother

Restoring yourself can be a slow process. Fortunately, I recognised that I needed healing and just completed the final phase by returning to the Motherland.

I’ve resisted the distractions and “busy” things that pulled me away from returning to my original state and now I feel reborn, refreshed and ready for the rest of the year.  Her healing powers are undeniable and for the most part I feel powerful.

Next stop…..Daytona Beach Sunrise.

Guilty pleasures [Level 3]

There’s a popular ad that captures guilt perfectly

  • Level 1 – Look but don’t touch
  • Level 2 – Touch but don’t enjoy
  • Level 3 – Enjoy but don’t show it
America is built on controlling the masses with fear.

I’ve mastered Level 3 publicly but The Division 2 will be hard to hold back.  I’ve avoided the hype leading up to release but this little teaser was too good to ignore.  I forwarded to some of my politically aware friends to see if they spotted that it was pure fiction…they didn’t…I didn’t discuss it with them.

Reorientation

When you hit a goal and sit pretty on the plateau it’s easy to become complacent with the view. More dopamine please, I need to push ahead but figuring out how craft new goals

….all hopefully leading to happiness and fulfilment.

So how do I craft meaningful goals? Who are my mentors?

Goal crafting sessions

A face-to-face sit down with someone who has achieved more than me and whom I respect and trust. Volunteer please.

The buzz of winning

The Austerity Years [Level completed]

Interesting things happen when you are face down in the dirt. Folk who you thought would help scurry into the sidelines but along the way, you may find someone who helps you focus fire and defeat Boss levels you simply could not complete alone.

For many the most important thing going on is the uncertainty of the UK leaving Europe formally but for millions of gamers it’s the realisation of Division 2 and the randoms who will become real friends over missions, raids and whip outs.

My PS4 Pro will be delivered before launch so now I just need to protect my stash and farm for more loot.

Waking up the bird

It’s been a while since I’ve use the Twitter social channels to communicate or comment on anything.

Twitter stopped being fun for me years ago when people started taking everything literally as truth. What’s more interesting is the weight it carries in judicial and education systems and the massive impact it has on a real-life relationship, job markets.

I’ll be posting with a large disclaimer banner under academic research.
