The Netflix movie \u2013 The Accused was so intensely accurate in terms of what has happened and could indeed happen again to someone being wrongfully accused via our glorious social media ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open profile \u2013 public access to personal data, followers, posts etc<\/td>Limited how unknowns can tag you<\/td><\/tr>
Connected family and friend\u2019s profiles are open and contain meta data such as location details, home address etc<\/td>Limited how unknowns can map your relationships<\/td><\/tr>
Phone location services open<\/td>Turn off when no Apps not in use<\/td><\/tr>
Images taken by 3rd<\/sup> party in public revealing location<\/td>Tough one to tackle as people are always snapping<\/td><\/tr>
CCTV data mapped with social media<\/td>Almost impossible to hide<\/td><\/tr>
Monitoring a hashtag in real time<\/td>No real reason to do this unless you are actually going to react<\/td><\/tr>
Online rumour pushed as fact<\/td>Response to accusations in real time by key social media channels, put out a pubic statement, engage a legal advisor.<\/td><\/tr>
